A story <\/h2>\n

The idea of digital catch statistics was born in 2016.
Antoni, a student at the University of Fribourg (CH), was annoyed by the inefficient paper statistics booklet. \"Something like this belongs digitized, and via a mobile app\".
\n
Together with Mario Baumgartner and the iimt Institute, they succeeded in creating the first prototype within a few weeks, which already caused enthusiasm among the first cantons. The canton of Graub\u00fcnden decided to have a test phase with the young team and the \"fishing app\" was convincing. During the test phase, further functions could be added and usual small problems could be eliminated. The roll-out was prepared. The first stage was reached in 2018 and the \"fishing app\" officially became the first digital catch statistics.
\n
Over time, feedback from cantons and users was intensively taken into account and the app was enriched with more and more new functions. This made it possible to develop an increasingly holistic application that convinces fishermen and authorities alike.
\n
In 2019 and 2020, further cantons could be convinced and introduced the \"Fisheries App\". In the meantime, we can rely on a broad customer base and are happy about every additional fishery administration that we can convince and inspire. What started in Switzerland also works internationally and the application is about to be rolled out in the first European countries.
\n
In 2022, we renamed the \"Fisheries App\" to \"Fishven\", short for Fish Venture (movement\/ venture). This is based on the fact that we now combine a wide range of digital solutions around fisheries management, in particular a mobile app for fish inspection, for professional fishermen and an administration platform as an integrative element.
\n
Our vision is, besides the continuous development of digital and efficient application solutions, the integration of diverse data sources around the topic of biodiversity waters\/ fish. We see this as the basis for active situation management. This allows the fishery administrations to analyze and assess the situation at the water bodies in a timely manner and, if necessary, to take measures. In the medium term, this will enable uniform monitoring and reporting. Ideally, with \"Fishven\" we contribute to making biodiversity uniformly measurable, presentable and comparable.
